Revolutions Bookshop - "The Labyrinth in the Egg": a chapbook release by Ulric Cowley with support from Tommy Gaffney & Brittany Baldwin
Ulric Cowley comes from Clay, Alabama a small town outside of Birmingham. Where he found meaning in the forests and Shadow Lake which surrounded his suburban upbringing. As an adult he has spent the last decade in the PNW specifically the north peninsula in Portland, Oregon. Here he has found meaning in places such as Forest Park, Sauvie Island, and the Smith and Bybee wetlands. As well as the urban sprawl and the citizens that fill its many streets. He has been published in Artitude, an arts journal in Portland. He has also self published many zines. The Labyrinth in the Egg is his next work where he attempts the act of projecting mythic memory onto the materialistic modern world where he deals with blending philosophy, spirituality, and folk imagery with an absurdist materialistic bent into an attempt of mapping out the world we live in.
Tommy Gaffney was born and raised in Kentucky somewhere between the projects and the trailer park. His work has appeared in numerous publications including Pioneertown Lit Journal as well as in their book Pioneertown Pairings, in the Drunk Poets Society Anthology, the Broken Word Anthologies and in the Ghost Town Anthology. He is the author of Three Beers from Oblivion from Earwater Press, and Whiskey Days, recently re-released by Thoughtcrime Press. At last count, he’s had 32 jobs and has been in 3 rollover crashes. Tommy's favorite colors are John Deere Green and Joey Ramone Black.
